“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”

Today’s photo and quote of the day are in memory of a great man, my father. Today would have been his 86th birthday. He was a wonderful man who had a passion for the finer things in life; nonetheless was extremely frugal. This is for you dad. I hope you don’t mind the color. I looked around and all that was available at the time was red. I know red is your favorite color, but I also know it is a bit ostentatious. I think you can manage, this once. I hope you will be enjoying a fine class of cognac later in the day. I love you. Forever yours. L

Today’s Photo of the Day is dedicated to my brother David, as today marks his ? birthday. Apparently men don’t like advertising their age either. The name for my image was chosen by my brother David, a professor and philosopher at heart.
